Apple Backs Clean Energy, Circular Economy Projects in India
Apple announced a series of new sustainability initiatives in India, including a new investment partnership to help scale renewable energy capacity across the country, as well as partnerships aimed at reducing plastic pollution and supporting green solutions startups.
Apple’s new initiatives include an expanded collaboration with renewable energy developer CleanMax, which will see Apple invest INR 100 crore (USD$10.5 million) to support the development of more than 150 megawatts of new renewable energy capacity, and with the opportunity to expand further in the future.
Under its initiatives to reduce plastic pollution, Apple announced that it is supporting recovery-focused recycling and waste management projects with WWF-India.
